Good metal OD Boost pedal?

I'm looking at good OD pedals. I wish I had a collection of dirt pedals to try out, but I don't. Right now I have a zw44 berzerker from mxr and it makes a nice tight metal sound when boosting my dirt channel. I was thinking of selling it to get a Maxon OD 808 or a Gearmanndude Luther Drive. Any other suggestions?

I'm pretty vanilla and if I want a boost to my gain channel I use a plain old TS9.

I've tried tons of distortion and overdrive pedals over the last few months, the ZW Berzerker OD pedal is one that I'm keeping. You might end up trying a bunch of pedals and not really getting anything better than what you have now. There are plenty of them that are more transparent, but it depends on what kind of sound you're looking for.

I'm looking for something that really tightens up and boosts the front end gain. Preferably under $200.

Get a Suhr Shiba Drive. The Riot pedal is more of a stand alone distortion, but the Shiba will heavy up your gain.

i quite like the Fulltone OCD V3. Not such a fan of the earlier or later versions.

My OKKO Dominator. I am a recent fan of this. ITS HEAVY !

The early models were gray but the new ones are red.

Do remember that he's looking for an OD/boost, not a distortion pedal. I was the one looking for Distortion pedals.

If you want to try out a bunch, any of the Joyo and Caline overdrive (and most of their distortion pedals except for the ones that have the name metal in them) make awesome metal overdrives.

Thank you, i honestly hate most high gain boxes. Some of them are pretty nice, but most of them just sound artificial and bad.

Depends on what amp you're boosting. For my Marshalls, I really like the stock SD-1. My favorite, though, is boosting with the Raptor that Rather Dashing built for me.
