viva_360 said:The Duncan Distortion i will keep that in mind. Scooter you said 80's metal ehehe but i will be using this pickup for modern metal which is in the syles of Shadows Fall, Killswitch Engage, Unearth, Machine Head, Chimaira.
Will it work?
Thanks!
What I was saying its that the DD is a good pickup for all types of metal. It will definitely cover the styles of the bands that you listed. I should have mentioned the parallel axis distortion as well. It's similar to the DD but has quite a bit more output. If you want a bit more versitility and better cleans I'd do the JB. If cleans are not a high priority give the DD a try. By the way, what guitar is this going into?viva_360 said:The Duncan Distortion i will keep that in mind. Ideally you want a pup that has a flat frequency response. Then you can EQ it to taste, instead of EQ'ing around the pup.viva_360 said:Hey Does anyone know hows the Dimarzio Steve Special? I know it's kind of the off the Duncan topic but i really need to ask this.
Is it good to have a pickup with scooped mids or raised or middled mids?
Cheers!
+1A Skater said:An Alder Body + a Duncan Invader can do nearly anything. Just be careful when attempting to do blues with it. It can do it, just not as well as a JB. But the Invader is definately a nice choice for metal. GO INVADER!
P.S
Check out those caps on the Invader :cool3:
