Good Multi effect pedal for under $300

Greetings all.

I'm looking for a good multi effect pedal and don't want to spend too much cash. I've been looking at the Boss ME50 and some of digitech stuff and even the Yamaha magicstomp pedal.

I'm looking for something with just good effects, no amp modelling. Anybody have any good recomendations?

I'd say the ME50... I am not a fan of digitech stuff (save for the Whammy) and the magicstomp rocks my socks but it's primarily computer-controlled.

Also check ebay for a used GT3 or GT5. Those are pretty cool.

if you like the magicstomp but want something more easily tweakable, find a used DG-stomp on ebay .. i love mine and it is killer as a recording preamp .. it is a little kludgey to use live (not terrible though) and has crappy presets (who uses 'em anyway :D ) but the sounds are really top shelf

good luck

The Yamaha Magic Stomp ...
I don't know if it'll do mulitple fx at once, tho.

I have a good mate with an ME50, and I don't know what it is - but it sounds very sheetty to me... very fake sounding IMO. Perhaps it was just the Rage he was running it through :p

But that being said, I've also heard the Magicstomp getting very good reviews - so perhaps that might be a little bit of insight.

How come you don't want to stick with many single stompboxes?

Basically I just wanted to keep my sounds saved. I have a bunch of boxes and they tend to make a lot of clutter with the cords and all. Plus I have to change all the knobs from song to song. Figured a multi effect pedal is the way to go as far streamlining my setup.

That would certainly be a good idea. Make sure you get a good one though! (which I guess is why you posted this thread :p)
