Good neck pickup to combine with an Invader (Going in alder strat)

Hello!

I've been listening and reading around, and I'm pretty set on an Invader for the bridge in my alder body/maple neck strat. I was thinking the full shred in the neck, but I noticed it was reccomended for warm/balanced guitars (mahogny?).

The Invader, from what I can tell, will be perfect for chunky riffs and powerchords. What I'm looking for in the neck is something articulate that I can get some great lead tones out of, while staying clear under distortion and effects. (For an example of one of my favorite leads, reference the solo in "Weisses Fleisch" by Rammstein) I would describe it as "Glassy" I guess.

I play mostly metal, and I'm inspired by Richard Z. Kruspe and Kirk Hammet/James Hetfield, (I am aware they use EMGs, but I'm a passive PUP guy) as well as Jimmy Page, Angus Young, Doug Aldrich. You know, Everybody! haha.

I've been reading around, but I felt it was time to ask the Seymour Duncan community for their opinions!

The Jazz sounds like it would suit you. I dont like it myself, but I dont like glassy, I like creamy.

The Invader neck may surprise you. Check it out. It's an awesome compliment to the bridge.

I didn't actually consider that. Thanks!

I had heard if I didn't like a pickup I could ship it back to get another pickup of equal value. Would that be correct? That would definitely make my tone quest a little easier.

Invader neck pickups are good and spanky sounding. It's a versatile set. For some reason a lot of folks don't believe that about them, but that neck pickup will produce CLEeEEEn stuff.

Two votes for a neck Invader so far, thanks guys. I'm all for a uniform look too, the Invaders look like a piece out of a tank haha. Should go great with the shielded aluminum pickguard and custom knobs I'm looking at getting.

The neck Invader will certainly do clean stuff very well, its a decent shout.
