I'm in the market for a good noise gate or suppressor. Anyone have any suggestions? Rackmount or not, it doesnt matter. Just make sure its no more than $250. ;)

Re: Good noise gates?

Alesis 3620, but you´re also buying a compreassor that you´ll probably never use outside the recording studio ;)

The older (Pre-GHS) Rocktron HUSH units are great as well ;)

Re: Good noise gates?

Well I'd like to use it live and in the studio if possible, and in the effects loop of whatever amp I'm using.

I (used to) use mine just before the Microverb and got great results.... The whole reason I´m recreating that section of my old rig ;)

the NS-2 works well for me

Re: Good noise gates?

I have an NS-2 and a Rocktron HUSH IICX (I think it's pre-GHS, not sure though). Anyways the HUCH IICX blows the NS-2 out of the water. Literally. I saw a few IICX go for around 80 bucks + shipping on ebay. Hope this helps.

The Rocktron Hush is the best I ever used .

Do they make them again , because I heard a few years ago they stopped producing them , it had something to do with licence ....

Nowadays I use the gate of my TC G-force
