Leo from Frog leap Studios shared how he does his camera shake a while back. It's a cool effect at spots where there's a hard bass slam. It's been a while since I've seen the explanation, but I'm thinking he, frame by frame, zoomed the the screen in slightly, then next frame, zoomed it out slightly. For a total of 3-4 frames maybe. Something like that anyway. Really cool effect.

In my humble opinion, videos in general would benefit the most from:
- learning a little about lights, it's like experimenting with mic positions
- recording the actual action from multiple angles...
- ...then add more cuts, to find a good flow with the sonic content
If these three are okay then your video is much more enjoyable right out of the box. FX is like spice: they can make a good steak perfect but if you roast the spice only it is less fun.

another camera would be nice for multiple angles, not sure If Im gonna get the lights cause my apartment is stuffed to the gills but that makes sense to learn more,

About multiple angles, you can use the very same camera and make multiple shots, one after another. If you have 3 different angles per scene it will add big variety.
About the lights you don't need any special thing. If you add a simple lamp it is too thin for sure, but if you use it with a white surface (a sheet of A4 paper for instance) that is a DIY spreader that boosts the light a little for the camera, the picture will be improved. Light for the camera is like gain for your tone. Also, the simplest colour / light adjustment tools in the video editor that you use can make quite a difference.
So, 3 takes / scene, DIY lights, colour / light adjustment in the editor, FX... Spicy

You might also look into some work lights like this:

Or the ones that sit on the floor/ground (without the tripod), bouncing off the walls/ceiling instead of pointed directly at you (which would be too harsh). I've got one of the 500w single lamps and tested it out on my video setup (JVC HD6 as well as iPhone) and it makes a world of difference over just the ceiling light.
Hang onto your old smart phones, also. They make workable cameras, at the very least, so you can film the same scene from different angles at once, then splice them together later.
And if you've got a train set with an open coal car and enough track to make a circle...

With text effects, lighter colors work best, and darker colors should get a lighter drop shadow or some similar outline effect to be seen.
Also, stick with one style of bringing the text in and out. Fading in and out would work best for this track IMO, with maybe a dissolve or two here and there for the choruses just to accentuate those sections.
Maybe throw in a full color-shifting swirl on the "blind" of the chorus.
And definitely work on the timing of the text lines so they come in and leave at the right times.
And for the guitar solo, show it being played rather than just the rhythm and bass. Shoot it from the nut to the bridge or bridge to the nut for variety over the "straight-on" of the rhythm and bass.
Be careful with effect plugins - they're addictive and you can easily end up stringing them end-to-end, ruining the clip.
