Re: Got 59 Bassman RI

It looks like you bought one of the new 'reliced' Bassmans. I saw those reliced ones at GC recently.
It's still a Ltd with Jensens, but someone at the factory kicked it around a bit and tarnished the chassis face.

Nice! Is it factory reliced? Don't you find those amp stands rob your bass and punch? And that corner placement makes things boomy? Anyway, very nice amp...rock on..!

Re: Got 59 Bassman RI

Sweet. Now you don't have to worry about where to set your beer!

Re: Got 59 Bassman RI

......ooooh, complete with a dusty speaker. Now that's what I call a realistic relic job !!!! :D

Re: Got 59 Bassman RI

Sweet amp. Real sweet amp. How does she sound? (like I need to ask...:laugh2:)

I've got one of those amps stands too. There's still plenty of low end for me. It helps that my amp is closed back. I let the bass player fill in the deep lows. ;)

Re: Got 59 Bassman RI

It's too early for me to say but it seems that it does only one thing (very well), which is fender clean. Fortunately, I have Banzai Fireball which allows channel switching between clean and dirty.

+1, or your Cranberry Juice (for those of u that watched "the departed")

:laugh2: That was a pretty okey movie. But back on topic. Damn that amp looks smokin'. And I think I'm starting to develope a thing for 10 inch speakers.

I had a Bassman Ltd. for about a year, and it's got a big beautiful Tweed tone, but it's SO loud that it's hard to get any breakup out of it, until it's beyond loud.
It's really a one trick pony amp, but it does that trick better than most.
If you have a Holy Grail or other reverb unit, plug the guitar into the 1 bright input, then out of bright 2 into the reverb, out to normal input 1. You're essentially bridging the channels with a reverb in between. That way, you get your tweed tone with reverb, but can mix it in, and retain all the punch of plugging straight in.
