Got a great set of pickups...now what to put them in?

I got a set of used black chrome covered TB-16 (59 hybrid) and SH-2N (Jazz neck) pickups. They look basically like new. Now I just need to decide which guitar to put them in.

Here's the pickups.

I have four guitars I'm considering putting the pickups in. Still trying to decide which is the best fit. Any thoughts?

You could put them in my 2016 Gibson explorer.

LOL...ok...send me the explorer. :D

[emoji1787] you got me there!

In all sincerity I would put them in the multi foil. I adore that PRS. I know this is the newer reissue model but I think it would bump that to a new level for you.

I'm seriously thinking about it. The pickups in it are good, but I'm not sure the Alt 8 is for me.

Personally, I like pickups that have that clear bell, vintage style sound. I even with tons of gain I like them better.

If I had the PRS, I’d want something vintage inspired. I think you have the ticket.

The alt 8 sounds like a great pickup for a guitar that isn’t your main thing but you’d want to be hot as hell.

I like the Alt 8, but I think it needs to be in one of my guitars with a Floyd for the really high gain stuff. I want the PRS to have a little more versatility. Even if I don't put these pickups in the Multi-Foil I'll probably end up changing them to something else.

Re: Got a great set of pickups...now what to put them in?

I agree that they would probably sound best in the PRS, but black chrome would look damn good in the Yamaha. And it would keep the Jap fetishists in here happy.

All those guitars are already loaded with great pickups...looks to me like you need a new guitar to with them...

Another vote for the multi foil. Or any of my guitars. Except the ones that already have those pickups lol

Well, I vote for the Yamaha. These would be great in a Strat-style guitar.

I'm still considering that. The black covers would look cool, but I also think the 500k volume/250k tone pots might work well with the 59/hybrid to help tame the highs just a bit.

Put them in the Yamaha. I was originally thinking the ESP, but Mincer made me blink.

Re: Got a great set of pickups...now what to put them in?

Got very bored with a Jazz / 59 Custom pair in a SG as they just seemed 'flat' and replaced them with a 36 / Airzone combo. So I would leave the Blue PRS alone.

So what guitar should the combo go in:
1. A new Guitar
2. The PRS Multifoil

I'd put them in one of the SEs. I bet they'd sound great in either one, and they'd look good in either one too..

When 'a new guitar' is one of the choices, always choose that.
