Got a Rivera Knucklehead 55 with Reverb

Stumbled across one on Ebay and won the auction. I'll post a review on it once it gets here. I'm digging my Chubster 40 so much I decided to see what the Knucklehead is about. I'm still keeping an eye out for the Shiva used, but till then this'll keep me happy.

Wicked amp! i have the 100 watt version, is yours running EL34's or 6L6's?

Make sure to check the pre amp tubes when you get it, if it has the stock sovtek WA's and the LP in the phase inverter slot rip em out as soon as you cn. Replace the LP with a JJ ECC803's longplate and the rest with ECC 83's.
That will change the sound of the amp like you wont believe! Alot smoother, with better gain, not as grainy.

It's the EL34 version and has the stock tubes in it. Needless to say a call to Eurotubes is in order. I'll try your suggestion and let you know how it sounds to my ears. Thanks for the tip.

If it has stock EL34's in it, they're probably Siemans. And, they'll probably sound pretty darn good.

I do like the new long plate JJECC803S. That's a good tube. Another person I spoke with that sells JJ tubes said he found them to be very microphonic, but I haven't had a bad one yet out of the 10 or so I've messed with.

KH55R is a great amp.
