I'll use whatever it takes to fit the music I'm playing. I've used as many as 8 on the board at once, now I'm down to 2, don't even need a board, but that could change.

I use a Bad Horsie wah into a Boss Metal Zone into the amp's clean channel. Some guys are good at using effects, and I've had fun with processors at home, but my new drummer is really good, and plays more than an AC/DC beat, so now I have to use my foot for counting :laugh2:

BTW, I even had to switch to the Bad Horsie, because the switch on my Crybaby was driving me nuts

FX send goes to tuner, these are all in line...

guitar - crybaby, BF2, DD6, sometimes BMP
Bass - BMP

im the only guitarist in some bands, meaning i gotta do interesting stuff :laugh2:

I use a Vox wah & a Mesa/Boogie Bottle Rocket O/D pedal....that's it.

I've got a Digitech 2112 if I feel the need to play around with a bunch of effects, but it rarely gets used.

(LOL, the Peavey got toasted by my stupid drummer who insisted on carrying and plugging it in, so happens he also unplugged the speakers in the process. Turned it on, nothing made sound, i checked out the back and the speakers were unplugged. I grew sad, but Christmas is coming around and i got some cash in my pocket)

I got an overdrive, a chorus, a graphic equalizer, a tuner, and a wah pedal... to me, all necessities for my playing.

I deleted my old answer in this topic, because it was useless and out-dated :laugh2:

I currently use one effect, my wah. I'm adding a few cool things after Christmas, such as a rangemaster and a super awesome overdrive

like most everyone else, tried all sorts of pedals and finally ended up with...
SD Sh-6, 20 ft. cord, Marshall 2210 with both top/bottom cabs and a Leslie 122....(now there's one BIG chorus..)...if you have never played through one...TRY IT!!!!! (it's the coolest thing on the face of this planet!)
Do have a Vox wah I use on one tune only (if we play it), but it never get's used long enough to even warrant having it.....
I am constantly amazed at how the simplest of tones are naturally able to be duplicated........with only style and judicious settings.....

I voted none cos i just have been playing with absolutely no pedals for ages due to the fact i havent got any, aside from one awesome distortion pedal i use with my smaller amp...but the ENGL doesnt need any other distortions

I do however want some delay and a wah, but thats about all of what my main effects will ever be, i prefer mainly amp tone, think it sounds better :cool2:

I have two sides to my playing. One side is just plugging a guitar into a tube amp and using a pure amp tone, usually for classic rock and blues. The other side is necessary to create textures in modern music, where I actually utilize everything on my board.

a guitar synth setup w/ Roland XV5050 & M-GS64 synths, Roland GP-100 preamp, with tons of effects, and I loop it all with an Oberheim Digital Echoplex.

Most of the time it's just guitar and amp, but I got some pedals.

Boss Digital Delay - for lead
Boss Chorus - only for clean
Tonebone Hot British Overdrive

As I play mostly classic/southern rock, I really dont need much more.

Considering my Vetaa II and the fitting floorboard i'd say about 30 possible effects. But then i still have some normal stompboxes.

My Line6 Spider does enough stuff for me. I hand built a pedal though...
