Got my Bass back!

Hey guys.

A few years ago when I was having a financial crisis, I sold my Peavey Millennium bass to a friend/customer of mine, George. It started life as a standard imported 5 string Peavey. It's always been a very comfortable and playable bass, especially since I am not a great bass player, but like to have a couple around for recording purposes.

The pickups are a J-Style stacked passive, with separate volume controls and a master tone. I wanted more control, so I added a Blend pot and a Jackson JE-2000 active circuit that gives me Master volume and master Bass and Treble controls. It went from a good bass to a fantastic one...

So I get a text from George on the weekend that if I want it back, I get first dibs. A brief chat with my wife got me a green light and I picked it up on Sunday. It needs a good cleaning and setup etc... I'll post a couple of pics after.

Thanks!

...and they lived happily ever after. :)

Cool! Nice to have an old friend come home!! I wish I could get my black Epi Ace Frehley or Dean Soltero Bella Noir back. Never shoulda sold them..

Re: Got my Bass back!

I continue to regret selling my Gordon-Smith GS-1. Were it not for a lean financial period, I would still have that instrument.

On the other hand, if I still had the GS-1, I would never have bought my Gibson LP P90 Goldtop, Junior Special, PRS SE Soapbar, PRS SE One or Hamer XT Junior.

Yeah, Ive sold many guitars that I regret. alot of them because I was still looking for the one, but Ive had to sell many to pay bills. the ones that hurt the most are ones Ive had to pawn for next to nothing. Had a charvel model Dr3 which was candy apple red, the first one in North FLa with the upside down headstock. Bought it for $650, pawned it AND my amp for $300. they turned around and sold the guitar for about $800 and the amp for 400.

Re: Got my Bass back!

Peavey used to make great basses! My first bass was a T40 and my second was a Foundation. I loved them but I got rid of them in order to purchase a P bass. There was nothing wrong with them at all except that the cork sniffers dissaproved.
