got my viper today!

graduation present from my parents, esp viper-300 off ebay. its awesome. maybe the best one i got now. got some advantages over my current best, the ex- cosmetic: headstock & neck binding, extremely perty finish, abalone inlays. structural: not neck heavy, thicker slab of mahogany for the body. the ex obviously sounds better though, cause DD/59 vs. HZ's. but it still sounds awesome. got a really good deal on it too. only a couple minor scratches. i love it. ill eventually get new pickups, but i want a rotovibe and new tubes first. ill get some pics up soon, but for now heres the seller's pics......

i can only HOPE for the best when grad time comes for me.. a buddy of mine got a taylor acoustic for his grad present.. i know i wont come close to that.... but an admission letter to berklee will do just fine :22:

I'm assuming when you say ESP Viper-300 you mean the LTD Viper-300? How does it play, and how do those EMG-HZ's sound to you?

Nice, it looks like a pretty classy axe. I love that finish and hopefully it sounds and plays as good as it looks (I'm assuming it does from what I've heard of ESP).

Killer!! What a great deal, graduate from HS and get a guitar! Love the finish as well, HZ's aren't bad, but I have a feeling when you slap in the right Duncans, the love for the axe will soar through the ceilings! Make sure you tell us what you end up putting in! Again, awesome!...and no fair!

yeah, ltd, i usually just say ESP though cause its more recognisable to people. plays great, and the HZ's are pretty good but i know ill end up changin em

My guitarist plays an older Viper-301 which is loaded with the stock Hz pups. It is a very nice guitar, and i don't expect yours to be any less

yeah, the only difference between the 300 and 301 is the 300 has dot inlays and 301 has flag inlays

personally, i think that the viper is more comfortable to play than an sg, also, the viper doesnt have neck-dive.
