Got my Warehouse 150's today

The only downside is I sold my house and have not bought the new house yet. I am living in a hotel! I have no workshop and all of my tools are in storage. The back panel needs to be routed to put the stereo jacks on the back of the MX212. The speakers I could change in the hotel this place is pretty big with a kitchen and livingroom area. I figured the hell with it and took it to the local shop. Kind of pisses me off knowing if I waited until I moved into the new house I could bang it out in a half hour on my own. The thing is this is the only cab I have here and I am dying to play my JC120.

Wheelhouse or Warehouse

Looks Nice

So it going in a 1x12 cab or in a combo

I thought the JC 120 was a two by twelve

Re: Got my Warehouse 150's today

Wheelhouse sorry for the typo. They are going in a 2x12. I need 8 ohms per side for my JC120 and I wanted something with plenty of headroom.

Re: Got my Warehouse 150's today

Looks very much like something I would be interested in. Frequency response looks very neutral for a guitar speaker. I would be happy to break in your set whilst you are between houses. :)

That is why I went with them. I put a mono/stereo jack in the cab. I will be using them 8 ohm x2 with the JC 120 and straight 8 Ohms with my JCM 2000. I can't think of two more different amps to be using the same cab with. I wanted something neutral that would give me more of the amp and less of the speaker.

You have a better chance of getting your hands on it after I move into the new house. This is the only cab I have at the hotel. My Marshall is sitting on the floor right now looking very pitifull.

Re: Got my Warehouse 150's today

The tech called he is done already. He put the meter on both jacks in each switch position. Everything reads as it should. Took him a half hour so the charge was $30, half his hourly rate. Nice, that he didn't charge me a full hour for part of an hour, I respect that. I can pick it up anytime before 8 P.M. tonight, I like that convenience. I will be using this guy again. There are some good techs out there.

Update I picked it up

You're going to have a hard time breaking them in with a two-watt head.

Re: Got my Warehouse 150's today

I still have the Ebay alert for JC 120 heads and this popped in my inbox today. Nice to see a $1499 price tag on a head I just paid $600 for but this guy must be living under powerlines. I added it to my watch list just out of curiosity.

BTW the speakers and the head sound sweet together. So much nicer than the combo's open cab and "serviceable" speakers. I haven't even plugged a dirt stomp into it yet. Just lots of big chords with the amp's reverb and chorus. It sounds beautiful.

Here is a rear shot for those of you that are interested. The original input jack was one of those round Marshall cones.

There is a weird digital artifact in the photo I don't know why.

Sure nothing fell whilst clicking?

It looks real
Lights reflects correctly
Casting shadow on cable under it

Re: Got my Warehouse 150's today

you talking bout that weird piece of cable hanging in mid air?

I think it's just the left speaker out cable with a vertical loop in it. Gives the appearance of a separate cable from that angle. You can see some white curved writing coming up from the bottom of it.

Had me spinning out for a moment there. Quite an illusion.

Re: Got my Warehouse 150's today

I'm really interested in these speakers after looking into them more. I have an Emi Tonkerlite in a 112 that sounds great.

They are very balanced and neutral. I haven't kicked the speakers in the butt yet with the JCM 2000. I have been traveling. I will say they sound amazing with the JC120. There is a massive roundness, crispness and snap to my bass strings, the treble end shimmers. It is very enjoyable to play much more so than my old JC120 Combo.
