Got myself a "new" amp today

Re: Got myself a "new" amp today

Lol that is funny to hear:D
Good to hear that it performs!

P'S a new 9v drive is about to hit the streets...and it will also be a mean little thing.
It was made to extend your amps, it is very transparent and can switch between fat lows and a more crisp lighter sound.
Has a clean boost and a drive, tone, volume.
Codenamed DC-Drive;)
It will be cheap as well, and can probally take on quite a few other pedals:D
Hehe

This bridge pup looks so tasty..

Re: Got myself a "new" amp today

You've finally got the perfect amp to test new drive pedals with, congrats! :fing2:

Man, 50w Hiwatts can rip your head off, I don't even want to think about a 200w one, headroom for miles and miles and miles and miles and miles and.... you get the point ;)

If you ever want to level the neighborhood around you, I'm pretty sure a 200w Hiwatt would do it. You're definitely going to need clips this time around Rid ;)

Re: Got myself a "new" amp today

The 200 watt Hiwatt is not the new amp, that is the one on the bottom that is that:)
And the link is further up this thread for the Hiwatt;)
The new amp is a Carslbro twinchannel 100 watts head, very very good sounding one too!
Got a mid frequency knob on the second channel called response, which can go from full fat and round to open Marshall/Hiwatt tones, plus a limiter that sags the amp response and lower the volume.....friggin' cool features.

Shows my attention span :D :smack:

Nice grab! Those Carlsbro amps are supposed to be great sounding Marshall circuits, definitely don't see them around often. Sounds like it has some cool and unique things going on with it, nevertheless, more clips :fingersx:

Re: Got myself a "new" amp today

Gotta love it. For all the work we have to endure, the tone toys are a small joy in life.

Great score Niels. What will be the max delay time of the Echotone? You guys seem to be going through an extremely productive period at the mo. Had a good look at the amps on the website a couple of weeks ago, and they sound superb.

Re: Got myself a "new" amp today

Thanks:)
Ah it is set to about 1.5 secs, it can go up to 2 secs, but we backed it off a hair, the long delays just break up too much, at 1.5 it was still doing quite good.
And I love the one preset mode it has, can switch between tempo tap and manual time.
And the loop in the feedback was also applied for this one:)

Re: Got myself a "new" amp today

When is it going to be shipping?

Echotone i mean, nothing on the website so far. I also live in Denmark, and i thought the DXL sounded great, but found the slap a little pointless.

Is the select switch for switching between the tap-tempo and the knob setting? That would be quite useful.

Maybe this is going to be my first CM!

Re: Got myself a "new" amp today

Man it has no buisness being on the site before it is finished;)
The extra head is for those of use who likes Gilmoure and The Edge, and other Echo users:)

Dang

A-Ding-Dang-Doo...

Well, now all it needs is a detachable power chord and maybe a smaller box

:fingersx:

Re: Got myself a "new" amp today

Might aswell keep my DD-6...

I think i'm looking for an analog sounding delay with tap tempo. The DXL was great, but i couldn't get around that slap doohickey, and decided to wait for something else.

Maybe the echotone is it. How does it sound compared to the XL? Is it basically the same sound but with different features? I guess it's emulating echoplex judging by the name, eh? :scratchch:

Or is that all too confidential yet? :smokin:

Re: Got myself a "new" amp today

It is not emulating anything, this delay is much fatter than any of our other delays:)
It uses the same chips as the XL and Quattro, plue Red Repeat, but it is wired up differently for more fidelity.
Well it is one of the most nice floordelays I ever have used, not to sound bosterous or anything, Thomas just outdid himself with this one!
We also have a 19" delay on the drawing board, it is a 2 year old idea...but it
is based on another chip/chips!

Re: Got myself a "new" amp today

Rid, i normally dont get too excited about your clips, but that hiwatt ROCKS. Loved your playing too.. if you are demonstrating tone, you dont need all those effects! :smack:

Re: Got myself a "new" amp today

Thanks for the info;)
Sometimes this place is just too much:D
Well where is the news that Hiwatts sounds great??
;)It is the essence that Hiwatts sounds great with effects, I use effects, I like good sounding amps, I make effects!
Lol and I am getting abit aggrevated now...hehe
