When I first looked I thought 'Not my choice of colour, but man that grain comes through nicely', but as I scrolled through the thread the colour just started to look 'natural' for that piece. (I really hope that doesn't sound as dumb as I think it does).

Looking forward to seeing how it develops as you get the clear on it.
Flake is always cool, but I'd love to see how that would look with a touch of pearl.

BTW - do you do clear coats for people ?
Question for future reference.

That doesnt sound retarded at all. I darkened up the back of it just a bit because I got to thinking if it was too light the red wouldnt show thru the gold pearl like I wanted still can see some grain thru there so no worries. I ordered gold ghost pearl flakes :) so you will get to see some pearl. I have not done clear coats for others but I am no opposed to it just hit me up with an email when you are ready.IMG_1801.jpgIMG_1802.jpgIMG_1797.jpgIMG_1799.jpg.

Are you going with chrome or gold?

Red looks good with gold hardware, and gold flake hints at the idea for gold hardware.
I think a gold Powertron and gold speed knobs would look great on it.

well the bridge that I have is a chrome one, however the thoughts of gold hardware are appealing. I hadnt originally planned on the gold dusting . I guess Ill play it out and see how it looks. If chrome looks bad after the gold dusting, then ill be on the search for some gold hardware .

Today was very nice temp wise out so I decided to start with the Pearl coats. first pic is no clear or gold pearl, second is gold pearl with no flash, and last one is gold pearl with flash on.
