Got to adjust the Full Shred

My pickups have covers on them. Including the Full Shred. By default it looks like I will need to raise the poles quite a bit? Why does this pickup have the type of screws it does? Will an allen wrench work?

Re: Got to adjust the Full Shred

Can you raise the whole pickup itself?

I used an allen wrench and successfully raised the poles. From the sound I'm hearing this pickup is not quite what I want in the neck. I want an Yngwie type tone in the neck. When I was using the HD Series POD the Dimarzio PAF PRO got me there, but those pickups don't work with the XT Series.

I did use a Pearly Gates neck model several years ago and from what I remember that pickup had a lot of spice. But at $105.00 seems too much to pay.

Did you try it in parallel? My buddy used a DiMarzio PAF Pro and went to a Full Shred Neck in parallel and loved it, but everyone is different... figured its worth a shot since you have it. He plays alot of Yngwie stuff, mainly on his Yngwie Strats, but he uses the dual hum guitar alot too.

Re: Got to adjust the Full Shred

The Full Shred can do a few things well, but I don't know if it would be my choice to get a good Yngwie neck sound. I can't think of a single humbucker that can do that, though. I agree to try it parallel, or even split, since you have it. But that Yngwie thing is pretty specific.
