Gotta replace a resistor on my Falcon, need some expert advice about caps.

Re: Gotta replace a resistor on my Falcon, need some expert advice about caps.

Yellow = 4
Violet = 7
Red = 100

470 Ohms

Um, gonna have to disagree with you. The third band (in this case red) indicates that you stick two zeros on the end, which would give you 4700, or 4.7k.

http://www.electronics2000.co.uk/ for handy electronic components calculators.

You can convert colors to values ... or values to colors. A handy capacitor calculator here too ... parallel or series.

Yellow - Violet - Brown - Silver = 470 Ohms +/-10% (that's what the colors look like to me in the picture but sometimes it's hard to tell from pics)

Yellow - Voilet - Red - Silver would be 4700 Ohms +/-10%

But I have this referenced ... has come in handy several times.

Re: Gotta replace a resistor on my Falcon, need some expert advice about caps.

lol It's 470 ohms, you can see it plainly on the schematic. It blew because I put it on the wrong lug. Even with one on the right lug though, it doesn't work because other tubes are busted. So if after a full retube it doesn't work, then I'll have no clue what's wrong.

Thanks for the help though guys!

Re: Gotta replace a resistor on my Falcon, need some expert advice about caps.

Gotta wait until the new tubes come in. Also gotta wait until I order the new tubes. Also gotta wait to get paid in 7 days.

*sigh*

Also gotta go to work...to be able to paid in 7 days...

Let us know when your audio signal is.....well.....audible

I definitely will. If the tube change doesn't fix it, I'm gonna be really unhappy, and also pretty distraught, cause nothing else is wrong. I've been over every single *darn* inch of wiring.
