Graphtech Saddles

LesStrat

Reining PunLowered
I finally got the motivation to order saddles for LesStrat. That leaves only the nut, bridge, body, and neck original.:smack:

I'll give a review once they've been in for awhile. Hopefully I will receive them by next weekend.

The Parker is still waiting for the tech to check the pickup wiring on the Brobucker. He had a doctor's appointment Tuesday and has not worked this week. I pray he is okay.

Okay, okay. I want my guitar back, too. I confess.

I'm having to play LesStrat tomorrow, and the saddles really are a problem.

I ordered the PS-8000-00 from an ebay store. This is bound to be better than the stock junk that is on him now.

Re: Graphtech Saddles

I've heard good things about them, but I've yet to try any myself. I may get some for my Peavey some time to try them out.

Re: Graphtech Saddles

I switched all my guitars to Graph Techs. No "tine" sucking or anything. Aside from the string breakage issues (which is why I got them) the guitars actually stayed in tune after songs.

Nothing but vintage snob BS. I have them on both my Strats, and if anything, they improve sustain. As for tone, I think some people don't like them because they don't kill the bass response like a steel saddle would. You will notice more depth in the lower frequencies when you put them on, but this in no way cuts the highs - it just makes them seem lower relative to the rest of the spectrum.

If you want a "vintage correct" Strat, you will hate them. Otherwise, they are a cheap and very effective upgrade.

Re: Graphtech Saddles

+1 to RDs post.... There are aso the Ferraglides for those that prefer attenuated lows instead of natural tone but aren´t total vintage snobs :D:D:D

Yes............ I think a lot of people have this opinion of the graphite saddles. I have them on almost all my guitars, which include LP, SG Strats, Teles. I have not noticed any change in tone and if anything the tone has improved and most importantly since I have been using these saddles I can count the strings I have broken on one hand...... and thats close to 10 years of using them!!

Thanks all. I need a new set on my one of my Strats. "Vintage correct" is never an issue with me. I need a player's guitar. I just need to find some now that have a wider string spread than the normal. I've got a wider Strat neck.
Call Graph Tech. The number is on their site. They're really friendly and helpful- and they'll even tell you not to order from them because you can get them cheaper if you order through a dealer rather than direct.

I've always said this- and the honeymoon period is long over with- the Graph Tech saddles are the best $30 you'll ever spend on gear.
