Has anybody used these saddles? Do they improve the tone? Just ordered a set for my Jazzmaster.

Hi, I really liked them on my USA Strat. Improving the tone is surely subjective, but I liked the difference. It rolled off some of the anoying treble and helped boost the mids and lows just a little. Warmer is how I would describe it.

I LOVED them because of the no string breakage issue. Wonderful product for not a lot of money. Save the originals in case you want to change back. It's and easy DIY project.

Re: Graphtech String Savers

I've been using them on all my guitars for the past 6+ years. I've often said "the best $30 in gear you'll ever spend." Not only did it alleviate my string breakage issues, but suddenly I didn't have to retune between every single song. I had no idea that my strings were binding in the saddles...

Re: Graphtech String Savers

I use them on my strat and my tele. I use 3 on the treble strings, and regular 3 on the bass strings. This way you can use 1 set for 2 guitars.
I don't like them on the bass strings - as they get too muffled. Not snappy enough.

They're beautiful though on the treble strings. They take a lot of the harshness away.

Another thing is you will never again break a string at the saddle anymore. I don't remember last time I broke a string on either my strat or a tele. They get so gunky and rusty before breaking that I replace them anyway.

i love em...i dont find they change the tone much, but they do prevent the allen screws from tearing up my palm.

Re: Graphtech String Savers

ok you guys might not dig me for this but i tried the Tusq ones they offered and i hated them. i tried the graphite one a long time ago so i cant remember if i liked those or not cause it was on a friends guitar.
anyway. the tusw ones sucked the tone from my guitar. you could say that the warmed up the tone but warmed it in a muffled way. it lost ALL the amazing overtones that the Callaham saddles had.

now you ask why the heck did i want to change out the Callaham saddles??! well im silly like that. By the way Callaham saddles reduce string breakage as well i think. they are amazing. super tone.

Callaham bridges....................makes me think of something Clint Eastwood would have on his guitar.
