This has been said before, but it's so easily overlooked and worth repeating.....

TRY SOME DIFFERENT PICKS!! :D

I grabbed a blue (1 mm) Tortex instead of the usual orange (0.6 mm) for band practice last night. Wow, what a difference, I was really cutting through, and hitting notes more positively. Bigger sound all around, really brought things to life. Gonna order me some more blues! :)

Forget that new boutique amp you've been gassing for, buy a new pick instead and spend the rest of the money on the lady in your life! :newangel:

I used to use the purple ones (1.14mm, I think) and I changed to the blues, they seem to have the same sortof tone and just enough flex for me.

Yeah, I used to use thin picks when I first started out (.60s, .7somethings) but when I tried the thicker picks I found I much prefered them.

Since then I've used 3mm stubby's, dunlop Jazz picks (try bending one of those things) those big triangular clayton picks.. I even bought a 5mm wedgie pick online once with a string order... I didn't read the fact that it's rubber lol, pretty odd pick it slows you down a lot :D

I'm now using 1.14 ultex picks.. they're great IMO, if you see them you should give them a shot, they also make 1mm ones... I prefer them to the usual tortex, they have a nicer feel.. more grippy

I use 1.14 Pickboy Egde Carbon Nylons exclusively.

I've tried about 30-40 different picks, but i've never heard a pick with such amazing sensitivity, feel, and shape ;)

Yeah, I couldn't agree more. It's funny how people usually swap amps before they'll even think to swap pickups....and pickups before swapping picks....

I've always used Fender Jazz picks (heavy gauge). Been looking for a similar pick that doesn;t have as much of a pointy end, figuring that a fatter point will thicken the sound.

Could i reccomend Dunlop Jazz 1's? They have a very "round" end ;)

i couldn't agree more... i've been using the .6 aand the .75s for a few years now and for me there is no better pick

I use the ultex picks or dunlop jazz III's. I like the speed i get with the Jazz III's, but for straight strummin' on my acoustic I prefer the ultex.

When i was learning i used the orange dunlops, now i use dunlop stubbies and another kind i forgot. The "other kind" is great for sweep picking and i can play so fast with the stubbies. The tortex purples are great for rythm and give a great crunch.

i like the 9mm too.

usually shoot the .22 cal tho. sport rifles with .22 cal are cool.









oh wait! we're not talkin abt guns.
ok i use dunlop 0.88mm
