Re: Great buying experience (New L.P. and pics)

Lord, I'd quit my job to go work in a music store that treated guitars and musicians like that.

Wait a minute, I work for myself... Oh well, "You're fired!"

congrats on your new axe ... she's a beauty .. enjoy and play in good health

that is the most awesome customer service story i've every read .. talk about text book on how to deliver a new guitar to a customer .. and yunno what? it shouldnt matter how much you spend either ... very impressive indeed

i guess they didnt fall for gibson's $150K "buy or die" offer .. good for them

cheers

Damn, that is the EXACT Les Paul I would buy, if I were shopping! Just last night, I was gawking over a charcoal flame LP on Ebay.....I was scheming of ways to get it until I noticed '60's neck'. :yell: I love the aged binding on yours!

I have no room to jones. I'm happy with mine right now, so I just play them and resist the urge to move them around further. Seeing yours makes it pretty damn difficult, tho. :32: :32: :32: :smoker:

Props to music machine!!! great store!

I totally agree. I just purchased my Les Paul from them a while back and it was a pleasure to do business with them. Cramer is a good guy to deal with. He's very laid back, and not at all pushy, and you can tell that he really values his customers and wants to make them completely happy with their purchase or purchases. I have only been there once but within that one time visit I could tell MUSIC MACHINE was definately something special. They carry great high end products and offer lower prices than most music stores and they have awesome service. My Les Paul is the best purchase I've ever made gearwise and I was glad to make that purchase through them because they really do deserve to be supported even as a smaller music store. I will never forget my buying experience with them, it was perfect and nothing I've ever experienced before at any other music store. Great Prices+Great Service+Great Staff+Great Products=MUSIC MACHINE ........ You just gotta experience it to know what I mean..... You won't regret it TRUST ME.... :32: Seriously... Check them out..... :)

Nothing like a Les Paul. There are a ton of great guitars out there....but only one Paul. This sounds like a great opportunity to get a brand new Gibson for a really decent price, if you can move by April 15.

Congrats!

Re: Great buying experience (New L.P. and pics)

That is the EXACT LP I've been wanting to pick up. I absolutely love that trans black finish and aged binding.

Re: Great buying experience (New L.P. and pics)

thats an awesome looking guitar... hard to beat a transblack flametop

Re: Great buying experience (New L.P. and pics)

Man that Black LP looks great!!! Never seen one around here with the flame top and a black dye job!

I wish for the day when i can walk into a store and buy a new Les Paul..... I have an old 76 Deluxe that is kind of the worst LP i have ever seen but i'll never part with it.... and i also have an Eppi LP that i picked up dirt cheap as the neck was broken off in an accident...... i repaired it and use it to take to gigs/jams were i don't care what happens to my gear... Oddly the LP i want is a 1999-2002 LP Deluxe reissue.. Those LP Deluxes have the mini humbuckers that a Who fan like me loves but the guitar itself is made much better then the 70's versions.... The 70's versions had pancake bodies and most have 3piece maple necks... The Reissues have nicer wood in the bodies and mahogany necks.... Much nicer LP Deluxe!

That sounds like a real nice store. When I bought my first guitar I knew absolutely nothing about guitars (And this was before the internet really got big), all I knew was that I wanted to sound like Slash on Appetite:). I got sold the crappiest $200 Ibanez you could ever imagine (plywood body, non functioning tone knob, weird looking ?wood? neck, tiny flat frets) at a store in downtown Austin that unfortunately I can't remember the name of. But then I found a smaller store closer to my house and went in there the next day. The guy that worked there was super nice (I'm drawing a blank on his name right now unfortunately). I started asking him about lessons and he set me up with a friend of his who gave lessons right down the street from there. He then asked me how my guitar was and asked if he could take a look. I told him I couldn't keep it in tune and I had broken some strings. He then preceded to show me how to string and tune it and replaced the broken strings for free. He then did a little minor set up for free(adjusting pups, action a little bit). Anyway, needless to say I gave that shop a lot of business over the next few years, until Guitar Center and another store (can't remember the name) moved in near by and the store closed.

Re: Great buying experience (New L.P. and pics)

every guitar buying experience should be like yours. congratulations on a nice guitar.

Re: Great buying experience (New L.P. and pics)

54stratlover,

That is a beautiful guitar.
Congrats.

On a side note:
What's up with everyone dropping Gibson of late.
Dave's guitar
now Music Machine.
Who's next WillCutt and WildWood?

Didn't Sam Ash or someone recently quit carrying Gibson as well?

ya, it is the whole gibson internet thing. Really sux!!

Re: Great buying experience (New L.P. and pics)

I just don't see how this whole HOMETOWN purchase thing's going to benefit them.
Not unless their QC starts getting impeccable.
This is the reason guys went to Daves, Willcutt, Machine, and Wildwood.
Their selection was all top notch pieces. Anthing not up to snuff got sent back.

Plus, what gives Gibson the right to tell me where I can buy from.
Least that's the way it comes off to me.
If I don't want to buy from the local guy I shouldn't have to.
