Great cheap delays?

Re: Great cheap delays?

What do you love to get some basic delay on for low bucks?

For very little money, you can NOT go wrong with the little Ibanez DE-7.

Re: Great cheap delays?

deja vu is cheap these days. versatile, easy to use and you can get great sounds fast as well as a swiss army selection of ins, outs and buffers or true bypass.
If you don't need the funtionality of tap tempo and ratio control etc and can live with short delay times, the all analog mxr carbon copy is delicious.

Re: Great cheap delays?

only one I can think of that is truely a good delay for under 100... Visual Sound Axle grease delay... analog/digital hybrid with oscillation abilities and a nice warm sound

I use mine for slapback echo for leads and it kills

Re: Great cheap delays?

Modtone MT-AD is pretty good and I got mine for $30. There is one locally for $50 too. Not bad prices at all.

Re: Great cheap delays?

What is cheap?

Mooer reecho, and EHX MemToy are both very nice right at or under a Benjamin. Mooer also makes a DM2/3 clone.

Re: Great cheap delays?

Less than $50, used whatever.

I'm just getting tired of pulling my DD3 off my acoustic board to use on my electric.

Re: Great cheap delays?

$50? Nothing that will compare to your DD-3, that's for sure.

If you can go up to the $70 range you'll find plenty of great delays on the used market, including the DD-3.

Re: Great cheap delays?

I would buy another used DD-3 long before I considered any of those cheapos that are infesting the earth.

It's a Flashback copy. I lent mine to the guitar guy from another band that played at our last gig when the Flashback on his pedalboard died onstage. He could'nt believe how great it sounded.

True story :D

Re: Great cheap delays?

I really like the Mooer AnaEcho (DM-2 clone, I believe). I've been thinking about getting one to use as a slapback with my MXR Carbon Copy staying on the longer delay setting I like. I hate bending down 15 times during a show to change my delay settings.

Re: Great cheap delays?

The Ibanez DE7 is a really good delay/echo. I paid $40 for mine, used. It gets used primarily with my Marshall in the effects loop.

Re: Great cheap delays?

Rocktron Short Timer, Carbon Copy, DD-3 (I'm amazed at how many pros use these!), or a used Echo Park. The EP is a really powerful pedal in a small package. Another sleeper is the BBE Two-Timer.

EDIT: Just read the rest of the thread...

Not trying to be rude here but for a budget of $50 don't expect much.

Just spend a little more and get another DD3. You can get them on ebay all day for $60-70 and while I am no fan of digital delay units they have their place and if you already have one then you know all about it.

I mean, be real about this...for $50 or less you're getting a cheap POS that'll be done in a year or less.
