Great Solo - Little Known Guitarist - Pete Tolson

Mojo's Minions
Ever hear of Pete Tolson? The Pretty Things were big in England thru the 1960's and in the 1970's made another push to catch on in America. I saw them back then in Detroit, after they released the 'Silk Torpedo' album. On that record, the solo at the end of the first song, "Dream/Joey" was done by Pete Tolson. Great tone, great style. Masterfully done. Live he used a Strat, not sure if he did in the studio too.

Tolson didn't get to show his skills often enough with the Pretty Things, who he was with for most of the 1970's. Anyone know of any other recordings of his fantastic guitar work, and what he's been up to since leaving the Pretty Things?

Browsing came across your query on Pete Tolson. As kids we played together until we broke up and he went on to the Pretties. He's alive and well in Essex, UK. Four of them recently got together and are putting out a 40-years after retake of Parachute, the 1970 New Musical Express album of the year. If you're interested, you can get details on www.thepretties.co.uk. Pete's the one who has no shades in one of the photos.
Quite right: he's an enormous guitarist.

Long dead thread, but I was looking for info on Pete Tolson.

Check out Jack Green's Humanesque from 1980. Great stuff. Pete Tolson is all over that disc. Really tasty stuff. Oh yeah, check out "I call, no answer" for Richie Blackmore in a sideman role.
