Re: Green Guitars Are Forever

hahaha it happens. I think it'd look good with those black Gibson knobs, like the ones on my SG. Basically the same thing but black...but y'know, i could be biased.

Actually I'm seriously thinking of getting chrome knobs with Ebony inlaid (I guess you'd say) on the top. Something like this (but chrome obviously):

But we'll see. It might not look right either. Like I said, I've been deliberating for about 2 years on this. Lame!

Re: Green Guitars Are Forever

Hey bigal, didn't I give you a link to some knobs that were very similar to gretsch knobs, only without the G? If I had a place for them I'd pick up a set for myself. I know I posted a link, search your green buddy threads.

My green Studio looks the same as it did when I posted it, but just for GAS's sake, here's a shot with cream appointments (sorry the pic is so washed):

Re: Green Guitars Are Forever

They're actually Les Paul bell knobs, and they're the first thing to go once I figure out what to replace them with. This is the only problem I've been having, design wise. I just can't figure out what I want!

Actually, the thing I want most are Gretsch type knobs, without the G on top (this isn't a Gretsch, I don't want to pretend it is - no Gretsch paraphernalia anywhere).

But yeah, they were an inoffensive and cheap stopgap, basically.

I think you can find flat topped Tele-type knobs on allparts.

When are you getting the Buddy back from Roman?

Yeah I still have that link bookmarked. Thanks so much dude! They're in running, along with a few other choices. I just don't know. But I really appreciate you giving me a link, that's awesome. And that guitar is cool! It looks like an Emerald Gem, but without P90s.

Might be a good idea. And like I said, his estimate 3 months ago) was 1 month or so. But he's run into a ton of extra work, and I told him I wasn't a priority at all. So he put it on the backburner. But he told me about 2 weeks ago that it was almost done, and to expect a pics thread soon on mylespaul. So hopefully, soon! I'm driving back to LA in about 5 days, and I hope to pick it up soon thereafter.

Re: Green Guitars Are Forever

That dark green LP Studio is really nice. When was that color available?

Did it originally have gold hardware?

I only have one green guitar *sniff*... but as it is a Gretsch Duo-Jet '57 RI, I can make do. LOL

Re: Green Guitars Are Forever

I actually do have one green guitar. Know its not any unglodly shade of green like some here:crazy: , but its so barely green that I dont even know what shade it is. A dark oldsmobile green I'd call it.;

You make a valid point, but it is my believe that the ladies like blue guitars more. No idea why, it's just that way. :D And I base this statement on absolutely nothing exept a statement that this fact is absolutely true!

i knew i'd find that guitar here!!!

I'VE ALWAYS LOVED THAT LES PAUL!!!

Re: Green Guitars Are Forever

Jerry -- blue is literally half the color green is.

As in Green = Blue + Yellow?

If so then that means that Green is only half a "true" color.

(Unless we're talking about the RGB thing where Yellow = Red+Green in which case they're equals :D)

I am not a huge LP fan... but that LP is a beauty... I once had a dream long a go amore than ten years back I was playing a Custom made Lemon Burst LP.... I might still go and make that guitar from my local Luither. :)

I see what you're driving at but the way I see it, primary colors (red for example) being a pure color contains mostly / only red or ONE color, whereas the secondary colors (green, purple, and orange) are literally TWICE the colors that primary colors are, being made up of two different light waves.

This is just me bull****ting on a forum to make my point seem valid.
