Ground Loops help

So I dont really know which forum to post this in, but I was wondering about ground loop hums.

My Power conditioner is fully taken with units to supply in my rig, but I need to also supply my midi controller/footswitch.... Seeing as it doesnt create sound or play a part in the signal chain, could I just hook it up to a different wall socket ?? If I did this would I get mains hum ??

I can't see any reason why not - give it a go, that's the only way you'll find out for sure.

Seems if you are using a wall wart (should be isolated) you are OK. As COA said, give it a go.

Yeah I guess... Just havnt received my midi controller that I ordered yet hence I asked !! I just thought that running every unit from 1 local socket made for a quiet set up and the midi will have to go to a different wall outlet hence I wondered if there would be any noise issues or loops.... because I would have the power conditioner in 1 outlet of the wall, and the midi in another... but it is not actually involved in the signal chain so hopefully it shouldnt leak mains hum into the signal... I'll try when it gets here.
