Grounded But Noisy? Lil' 59

Greetings. I just wired up a parts tele with a 59HB Neck and Lil 59. I had them in another tele years ago. The harness is perfect (ordered one from a pro 500k CTS .22 cap etc.) and it's def grounded (hum goes away to silent when touched). I do notice however that when I'm hands off the HB is MUCH quieter than the the Lil 59. It's been a while since I've had these in a guitar so I'm just wondering if it's the nature of the Lil 59 to be really hot or might the pickup be faulty. Like I said it IS silent when I complete the ground by touching bridge, strings etc.

Hmm, it isn't generally noisy. I'd check if both coils are indeed working by tapping on the poles with a screwdriver.

Totally what I was just thinking. Going to check later. I'll bet on of the coil leads is messed. Thanks so much for the reply.
