I think, perhaps, I have put to rest the idea that tubes are the only way to get amazing tone.
Personally though, i would save up and get the fractal audio axe fx if you are going to be doing stuff professionally/gigging, etc
but yeah, the tonelab le rocks

If I said in the beginning that it was a tonelab le...everyone would be knocking it as "Oh I can hear the digitalness already.." "It sounds so cold and lifeless...no tube warmth"...."modeling sucks...tube all the way man"...ahaha

So your hint was a lie? Or did you really spend $2500 on a Tonelab? I've never heard an amp exactly like that before, and my guess is no one else had either, thus the random guesses based solely on your hint. I did like the sound, although the reverb was almost overpowering and it sounded a bit distant. Are you running straight into the board?

Yeah, but I'm of the opinion that when you tell someone you spent $2500 on an amp, they're probably going to guess that it was a $2500 amp.
That said, how does it work and what exactly does it do?

I just listened to the clips...there's no way in hell I would have believed that to be a $2500 amp just to be honest...either that or you didn't know how to EQ an amp

So how was it recorded? because a modeler direct has nothing to do with how it will sound with a band in clube with some sort of power amp/speaker.

You are. But it does sound pretty voxish. Unfortunately I was too lazy to listen I just looked a the last posts. Its pretty AC30ish, but nobody will believe me.

I run modelers through modelers and mix my signal aprox 60/40 with a tube preamp hybrid amplifler,. Tone snobs love to flame me AFTER they findout what Im using to get my sound....I dont care, cause like this thread ,BEFORE they find out what Im using they are like whoa man what kind of amp are you using

Guess what amp im playing
Hint: Around 2500$ (Ive been saving!!!!!). the clips done with an sm57 at a gig...through the PA and into a recording thing I guess. The tone is purely the amp.

The fact is you did trick people by saying $2500 so they thought it was an expensive amp despite the clips. If you'd set it up and asked guess how I got this tone? then you'd get truer opinions.
