Guest Luthier - Michael Anderberg - Tuesday, November 24, 2009, from 10 – 4 Eastern
Michael Anderberg has been involved with fine wood crafting for over 30 years. Initially he developed and honed his skills by building and refinishing custom furniture and then, 18 years ago, began designing and building guitars.
From the outset it was Michael’s vision to create something completely by hand, with no mechanization. It’s an old-school approach that is rarely seen in today’s computerized luthier workshop. The tone woods are hand-selected by tapping for resonance, the shapes are hand-drawn and refined for balance and old-fashioned comfort and playability, the Seymour Duncan electronics are individually selected for each instrument like a wardrobe and the hidden innovations are plentiful. There are production images on Michael's MySpace.
Michael has a number of his own patented inventions inside of his guitars that you will find nowhere else in the world. Michael’s approach to his craft is one that has roots in family, faith and artistic aesthetics. One of his instruments was recently reviewed in Premier Guitar magazine.
On Tuesday, November 24, 2009, from 10 – 4 Eastern, Michael will be our featured guest luthier. Please join us for the fun and informative chat. Mark your calendars now. One lucky participant in the chat will win a Seymour Duncan Guide to Pickups DVD.
