Hey guys
I've been doing some real in depth research on P-90's especially the ones from Guitars Fetish, the GFS P-90 model.
The guy at GFS (Jay) seems real cool and helpful... I'd say they probably sound pretty good... and even on this forum... no-ne has anything bad to say about the GFS pickups... sure are a good price... but when I looked up close on the pic of the GFS P-90 I noticed that the cream plastic cover had a 'bevelled edge' like a 'moulding' you would put on the top of a wooden table that you made in your workshop...
This is the same thingg that the P-90 covers have on the new Epiphone '56 les paul... The sound is the most important thing for sure... but this 'moulding' looks damm cheap and nasty... it's like nothing from the past...
it must be some cheaper way to make them?
I'm wondering if the GFS pickups ra ethe same as the Epiphone ones? Does the epiphone '56 actually use GFS pickups?
Anyone got any idea on this?
