Re: Guitar help?
As for amps, I need a good SS non modelling amp. The Fender Champion 40 would do, right? Will it take distortion, delay and chorus well?
No solid state amps really take effects well, in my experience. (I'm sure the refuters are warming up their refutes as I type!)
I have had all kinds of amps, tube, hybrid, solid state, Class A, Class AB, combos, heads, high wattage, low wattage, you name it --- and for what you're doing, I really like modeling amps.
I'm not sure why you think you don't want one - could you expand your reasoning for us?
I currently have a Fender DeVille 212 (60W tube, 6L6), a VOX AD15VT (hybrid modeler) and a Fender Ultimate Chorus (SS, 130W, 2x12), and they're all great for their intended usage.
I play the VOX modeler the most these days, because A) it sounds great, and B) I don't have to bring my whole pedalboard out with me when I play it. I can set up a few presets, and I'm all set.
Here is a clip of my little Vox modeler. Consider them (modelers in general).
6 years ago, don't make fun of me!
I switch amp models to clean around 6:00, then to high gain at 8:00
