Your King V timeline is a bit off. I've seen work orders referring to King Vs as early as 1985; these guitars have the shorter wings as Double Rhoads are quite rare. The KV-1 also wasn't the first Mustaine signature, that honor goes to the King V Pro from 1990. The KV-1 was introduced in 1996 after Caparison stopped making the MIJ Jackson guitars.

well with the king v you're kinda right, kinda as the first real king v sold was the KV1 signature guitar of dave mustaine, before the KV1 the guitar was called the double rhoads as it was a symmetrical version of the rhoads long wings, the first one was ordered by Dave linsk from overkill, that was when Robbin saw the guitar and ordered one too, it was nicknamed as king v for him but was only a custom order guitar until the KV1, Dave's sig that featured shorter wings lrs tuners and korina body wood, then all the other versions appeared.
