I just received a SPB-3 today (Quarter Pounder for P-Bass), and I ordered it from Guitar Parts Resource, LLC, in Millersburg, OH. I just opened up the plastic box it came in. One white lead wire for one coil is completely missing and one black lead on the other coil is cut in half. The covers are scratched pretty badly too.
It may not be the most proper thing to post something like this here, but I'm hoping one of the S.D. factory people will see this and will tell me if I can solder a lead wire to this pickup and try to use it and ithe pickup still be covered under warranty. I've tried to call the dealer but they are only open M-F and close at 5:00PM, so it doesn't give a working stiff like me much opportunity to call them. I left them a voice message. If they don't get back to me and take care of this rather quickly I won't be doing business with them anymore. I think S.D. should know about how their dealers service customers, too.
