Hey guys

I'm having problems with Guitar Pro v5

I'll be jamming along with one of my songs, and when I get past bar 200, the sound starts to stutter in 4 random places within every 8 bars thats played. On every stutter, my CPU usage jumps from 18% to 55%, then back to %18 when the stutter has stopped. Tho I guess its not really a 'stutter' like when kids have trouble talking, because that would lead to repetition of the one note, its more a pause, for example:

8th note, 8th note, 8th note, 8th note, 8th note, PAUSE, 8th note, 8th note, 8th note.

So in my bar of 4/4, the breif pause makes it sound like i'm playing in 9/8.

Computer is 2.8ghz, 2.5gb RAM, SBLive!

Anybody have any idea's how to stop these random pause's? It only seems to happen after bar 200.

the french aren't known for the best software. good luck getting support. all i can say is that i have it and have updated it since i bought it, but there's always a problem.

it crashes if i rewind back a couple of bars. the rse gets real loud and fuzzy after it crashes too.

hey, ive got a very similar PC than yours (3Ghz, 2Gb Ram, Sblive) and GP5. maybe you can send me the tab so I can try it and see if it happens.

do you have soundfonts and EAX effects enabled?

When you start up Guitar Pro 5, hit Ctrl + Shift + Esc. This will bring up your task manager. Go to the tab that says processes and click on the heading that says CPU (so that you can see where your CPU usage is going). Then the next time that the program starts to skip, look at the task manager and see where all the CPU usage (and thus the freezing) is coming from. Then respond with what programs are eating all your clock cycles (then we can come up with a solution). I use Guitar Pro 3 on my 2GHz Athelon with no problems whatsoever.
