Re: Guitar project #3

What paint were you looking for originally? That looks pretty cool to be honest . . .

Re: Guitar project #3

It would look the same but only white instead of black. so I'm going to use a rosewood Bord with this one

Re: Guitar project #3

Nice. Duplicolor makes some REALLY cool stuff for guitar finishing. I was just browsing their site and got some more ideas. I'm gonna need more pickups soon! :D

Good to see the Mirage working out for you. Smart move getting two kits, one kit was BARELY enough for the Dean I did.

Re: Guitar project #3

Holy cowpoop! That finish is outstanding :D Great job
Yes it's going to be epic

Re: Guitar project #3

Dude, that paint is sick!

I think the Maple neck would still look cool. I think maple necks look best on a dark color body and the opposite for rosewood:)

Keep those pics comin'. I love to see "in progress" threads like this

Re: Guitar project #3

Well, hurry up and finish bro.
We need the finished product!:)

Peace,

Darrin

Do not worry it will be done in a few days but I'm having to wait for a little bit due to it snowing

That's a sign of the apocalypse.

Snowing in Nevada, here in Michigan it's getting close to 90 degrees.

Re: Guitar project #3

NICE! It looks like you did a really good job with the aerosol paint application. I've got to ask, did you just hold it by that stick that you have bolted to the neck pocket with one hand and spray with the other? If not, then what's the method? I've got a MIM Strat body that I'm going to be painting with some aerosol I bought from reranch.com, and I want to think this through before I get started.

^^ I put some holes in the top and put some string in it or what I'm using in this pic. I then run rope thu the hole and hang it.

Re: Guitar project #3

The neck is done just going to let it set for a few days. got the tape in the body i'm going to wire this puppy up later today.

Re: Guitar project #3

I've seen that type of finish, and the flip-color finishes, and I've wondered for a while how those would look on a carved-top body, like an LP or similar. Seems like it would really take advantage of the curves.
