Guitar Setup Problem.

I'm actually a bassist but just recently bought a MIJ Strat. I put on a new set of strings as soon as I got the guitar and now I'm having problems with the low E string.

All the other strings seem fine but on the E string from about the 9th fret upwards, the notes come out all wobbly worble (excuse my technical jargon :laugh2:). It is hard to describe but the tone is kind of distorted and 'wobbly' when playing in this area. Also it happens even when playing unplugged.

Does anyone know what this could be and how I can resolve it?

Re: Guitar Setup Problem.

Try lowering the pickups a bit.

If you changed string guages the bridge may need calibrating.

You may have a bad string, change it.

welcome to the forum :)

is the "wobby worble" fret buzz? look closely when u hit a fretted note at the 9th fret or above. look at the frets higher than the one you are fretting. does the string hit any of these frets as it is vibrating? if so then it is fret buzz. if you bought it at a gc go back and complain and have them fix it for you for free. with the right attitude, theyll listen to u. otherwise youd have to get a frett dressing from a guitar tech.
