guitar software..

looking into a software program for recording and amp simulation on my computer. I have no clue what there is nor what is good. Can anyone point me in the right direction, thanks!

I have no experience with them but Line 6 has guitar and gearbox (simiar to the PODXT but in software form), amplitube, native instruments guitar rig 2,
and there is probably others.

The line6 toneport works fairly well for me, recording and amp simulation. The one problem is if you want sound coming out the speakers you have two options.

1)Get a 1/4"->1/8" converter to the input jack of your sound card from output line on the toneport.

2)Get a 1/8"->1/4" converter to plug your speakers into the toneport headphone jack.

Line6 RiffTracker. It has all hardware & software needed to record guitar, including drum programs, & is upgradeable as you see fit. Every clip in my sig was recorded with it.
