I recently built an Epiphone Les Paul Special II. It sounds and looks amazing, however, the sound is always covered up with a weird buzzing, static sound. It's like the sound an amp would make, but like x10. And the buzzing stops when I touch the plate or stews holding the input jack in the guitar. It also get louder when I touch any other metal like the pickups or the bridge. I got the wiring schematic directly from Epiphone and did it all myself (after weeks of trial and error). I talked to them recently and they said that it was most likely a grounding problem. I'm just not sure what exactly the grounding problem is coming from or what to do about it. I really don't want to have to take my guitar to a shop if I don't have to, just for something I could do at home.
