Hey guys,
I've been swapping pups a lot this year and it started to look real ugly under the hood. My main problem was that I was just learning to solder and my radio shack 15-30 watt iron does not get hot enough when it comes to unsoldering ground wires from the back of the pot. So I just kept piling on solder to the back of the volume pot every time during a pup swap. The switch has taken a beating as well, just because I was using a bad technique in the begininning before I started to get the hang of it.
Anyway my guitar stopped working when I rewired a new pup in yesterday. I re-checked the connections by eye for a cold solder and it *looked* okay. I have a multimeter - How do I troubleshoot the bad part or connection when the guitar is wired up? I am pretty shure it is the volume pot or the switch and I would like to check both these components hopefully without taking it all apart again.
Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks
Rick
