I have an old 50s era acoustic and I'm wondering how the guitar straps were connected back then. Mine just has a fairly large hole at the bottom that looks OEM. Way bigger than a screw hole would be for a button.
I also have some tapered pins like you use for holding your strings in the bridge, but much bigger. Is that what was used? I'm not positive but I think it's a 50s Gibson Country Western.
