guitar wont stay in tune

Re: guitar wont stay in tune

Has the guitar always been like this or is it since you changed the strings?

Make sure the nut is good (strings free to slide), and that you have correctly installed the strings using the locking tuners. The lcok knobs may not be tight enough, and/or you may have wrapped too many times. With locking tuners, I usually wrap about half a turn. Also make sure that your bridge is not rocking and that the strings are firmly planted in the saddles.

Ill check the nut and restring. Ive been using locking tuners for a long time and have not had any probs, so I think my technique is ok.. The bridge is tonepros and locks in place, so not having any movement there.

Yeah, stock strings were changed out pretty quick cuz they felt like spaghetti. So I restrung with daddario .10s

Either nut or the saddles. If you hear screeches when tuning individual strings, then I'm almost sure it's the nut problem.

It could also be that too much string is wound on the post as someone suggested before. This can lead to improper angle or just too much string on the post suffering from torsion effect.
