Don't do it!!! No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, nooooooooooooooo!
I bought a GFS Paulownia Strat body and had to return it. It was absolute, total unusable GARBAGE!
I am piecing a guitar together for my neice (she's a little kid) so I wanted Paulownia for it's light weight, but this body was horrible. It looked nothing like the pics on their website. Nothing lined up. The cutouts and neck pocket were off. Bodu shape was "off". Trem cavity was off center. No standard parts fit.
You got a bad one.
I have 4 of them right now, they were all just fine. I refinished them because they didn't have colors that I wanted, but for $50ish a piece, well worth it.

Then I bought another super strat body - both my previous buys were as advertised on their site. This next one was not the same one they had on their photo., while the front had fewer marks on it the back was scraped and scratched all over. It seems they had several of this model and sent out any one they wanted. After complaining it seems they would be happy to give me a refund if I paid for the return postage...but when you add up the cost of postage and insurance, well over $25 - it was hardly worth for a body that cost less than $35!
So it seems some are OK and others are a bit of a lucky dip... you never know what you are going to get.
Those cheap clearance bodies are a real crapshoot. They're mostly junk brand guitars that were never finished. Stick with the GFS branded bodies and you should be ok.
