Guitarists who use EHX Bassballs?

After a long day at work I decided to spend 30 minutes in the local guitar shop and, based on curiosity, decided to play through an EHX Bassballs pedal. It was cool and I really liked, sort of coaxes riff out of you, and I was just wondering if you guys know of any guitarists, famous or otherwise, who have used to BB to construct riffs or songs? I'd like to have one but would like some examples of where people have gone with it...and if not, well, I may be going into new territory...or not, if not, let me know...

I'm not sure about Bassballs specifically, but it is just a simple auto-wah. So since the auto-wah is a common efect, Bassballs is an inexpensive way to incorporate that effect into your rig. I'm not really into auto-wah effects, but the EHx Bassballs and the DigiTech Synth seem cool.

Mick Thompson from Slipknot is the only guy I know of who has one on his board. I don't know if he uses it in the studio, but I've heard him kick it on live.

I've used them over the years...right now I am without one and my only Envelope Filter/Follower is an old DOD but it doesn't have the Distortion in it like the Bassballs...it can be cool but use it sparingly and carefully!

Mick has a bunch of Electro Harmonix, MXR, and DigiTech envelope filter units in his rig. I think it's the DigiTech at the beginning of "Prelude 3.0" on Subliminal Verses.

Yeah, it's like an envelope filter on acid. It doesn't quite wah like a wah, it just pops and wacks like crazy. It's also got a built in "distortion", thought it just takes the thing into a basic "overdrive" tone. Pretty cool pedal, pretty cheap, and I think y'all should check it out!

Interesting... how would it work for someone using drop tunning... it's a pedal made for bass... Metal players can go crazy with it IMO...

EHX really do have the right thing going for them... they push the limits and not just make another TS-808 upgraded copy...

Bassballs pedals are very cool. I've used one on and off over the years. More of an overdrive/auto filter than an autowah. Not a subtle effect, great for napalming an audience.

It it usable with guitar or bass, as it is an envelope-based effect. But most effects can technically be used with both.
