Are they comparable? What is the difference? I am interested in practice and minimal recording. Whats the better option? Also, does a wah work alright in front of a guitarport? Whats the advangtage of RiffTracker?

Re: GuitarPort or TonePort

If you want to record your guitar GuitarPort is all you need. The TonePort throughs in the ability to do microphones also.

RiffTracker will allow you to easily get your guitar tracks on disk. If you are already editing with another package you like you won't need RiffTracker. RiffTracker seems to be intuitive enough for a complete recording novice like myself to get some sound on disk.

BTW, I have the GuitarPort + RiffTracker, the wife got it for me for my Birthday.
