Re: Guitars that are uglier than sin
That Queensrhyche logo shaped thing you see on Ebay every so often.
And yeah, I kinda forced myself to forget about those 80's Peavey monstrosities that looked like the bits you have left over after cutting out other shapes. Especially since two of those shapes looked like they could fit together like a Voltron or something
The Hydra was ugly, but it did play well. And you could reach the upper frets, unlike on an EDS-1275.
I don't mind Strats and Teles as far as looks go, but I just can't stand to play them. However, there's no excuse for the Jaguar, Mustang, Music Master, or any of their other non-Strat/non-Tele shapes.
And while those ESPee Artist models look window-lickeriffic, you have yet to see the Stabbed Poo Jackson. If I ever find the pic....
Speaking of Jackson.... I'm a huge Warrior fan, personally. However, I do not like the BC Rich Stealth, regardless of which famous dead guitar hero played it. I also think Ibenhad went a step too far in ripping off Jackson (yet AGAIN!) with the Xyphos.
Those Rhoads-ripoffs with the sissy-scoop at the end of the neck are also inexcusable.
Mosrite.
Anything with a giant headstock for a body and a small body for the headstock (Gibson and Fender both had one).
Prince's guitar, yeah, forgot about that one as well. Both the symbol he changed his name to and his other one that looked like a table leg.
That "child mannequin guitar". Man, that's just creepy.
Dave Mustaine's Dean/ESPee models (especially that one you never see him with - whatever it's called).
Conklin used to have some real winners back in the day in their magazine ads.
The Rudy Schenker V (same color scheme as Michael's, but with weak-a$$ dot inlays instead of blocks).
The ESPee "almost a Gibson" models (that SG with the saggy rear, whatever it is. Viper?).
The Jackson Roswell Star and Kelly Star. Ick. P-U. BLECH.
Those Minarik "shaped like giant flames" things.
