Indeed. My Warmoth guitars and bass, as well as my Orpheo bass, are invaluable to me and I would never think about selling them. However, I have watched many used Warmoth guitars go on the market for extremely affordable prices compared to ordering the same neck and body from Warmoth directly. Can add any 'custom made' guitar for yourself from a boutique builder. I get them made for myself... but I always warn people that they are not ones to be moved on later lol. So better make sure you like it or know what you're getting into.
I assembled the first 6 Warmoths I owned. I brought the latest one to a luthier. There isn't much of a difference IMO. However, a majority of the people assembling their own Warmoths might make your statement ring true.Warmoth builds are so cheap because they are assembled by amateurs. The cost of the value of the labor is factored into the price
Indeed!and for those of us that know how to fix things, we can get a good deal on quality stuff!
You can also get great deals on used gear by adding "broken" or similar words. Often times the thing that makes it broken can be fixed in a couple minutesand for those of us that know how to fix things, we can get a good deal on quality stuff!
SameI've never purchased a guitar thinking about what it's resale value is because I wouldn't buy it if I thought I'd sell it.
