Guitars with way too much bling than you would normally go for..

Phantasmagoria

watch where you point that sabre
.but still give you GAS...

I'll go first... New Ibby S for 2023

It's an oddball for a Sabre. & I normally detest gold hardware/finishes on almost anything...plus the funny skewed frets are'nt normallly what I'd go for either.

BUT.....Despite a fair amount of bling, I'd even go as far as to say it's kinda classy looking & yeah, it's been giving me GAS since I saw the video.

The looks are not quite my thing, but Ibanez is certainly forward-thinking and not putting out the same models year after year, and I can applaud that. I don't dig the gold, either.

I love the vibe of the Relish Guitars, but they have more bling and gadgetry than I typically would be attracted to.

My back hurts looking at that. I think it was supposed to be modeled on John McLaughlin's Double Rainbow guitar.

Yuppers. John's original was built by luthier Rex Bogue. Ibanez asked Rex for his blessing to continue making copies of them as Artwood Twins. If I remember correctly, Gerry Beckley of America toured extensively with one of the first Ibanez versions. They are now highly sought after by Ibanez collectors.

That second one is outside.
My coffin lid has too much bling.

No such thing. I have a fluorescent pink project as well as several holoflash guitars coming up.

My Aria PII and my Carlino are more flash than I normally run with I guess

I know Johnny Mac's weighed over 17lbs. Ouch!

I own one of these. Translucent red color and bling style binding and fret markers a bit over the top but superbly made, plays like a dream and sounds brilliant Weight not too bad at 8 pounds . Have no intention of selling even though it does not get played that much.

I don't always get GAS from them (mainly as they are all price on asking!) but whenever I think of 'too much bling', I always think of Jens Ritter's guitars.

(Apparently model number 3 of the second guitar in this post is owned by Lady Gaga....)

I'm normally a natural wood kind of guy and not normally a bling guy. I'd rock any of these in a heartbeat, even if it looks dumb on me.

Les Paul 295 with double trapezoid inlays and a florentine cutaway. Just wow. Why isn't this a standard model?

Like the psychedelics also. I'm from the end of the era.

Same reason I loved these back in the 80s, and 90's

I've been eyeing that S, too. Just like there's a fine line between clever and stupid, there's a fine line between eye-catching and gaudy. Maybe I'm just sick of all the gray faux-flamed maple from the last few years, but this one does it for me.

On the other hand, chunky Guitar Center Russell Brand does not do it for me.

The last decade of Kiesel mismatched woodgrain monstrosities come to mind.

Yep, that kind of stuff isn't for me, but I don't consider that "bling". That's just a poor design choice in my book. However, there isn't an electric guitar on the planet that's too sparkly for me.
