When I was going to buy my first high quality electric, I was convinced everything about an SG was right. It looked great, there had been a million fantastic tones from them, and they were just cool. But then I went to go find one. And every one I played was a bit thin for my tastes. I just never gelled with one, and I found the glory of a nice Les Paul.
I wonder if there are other instances or examples from your experience, whether it's just a guitar you used to think was phenomenal but eventually decided it wasn't for you, and what was it that did it for you?
