something I am more jittery and excited about soon having
than I was when that Cloverleaf monster looked into the camera and said boo for the 9th time

50 watter into a pumping cab designed for lows and sub-low tomfoolery

yeah the graphic EQ, sure, boost mids for lead work?
grunt.

but with that cab, I'm slobberin like a St. Bernard pup with a soup bone at the thought of that EQ and that cab for boosted sub-lows and a notch taken out of the wooly honk....Ho-ho-holy sch niiiyyyy kies I can't wait to try all kinds of zany metal crap with this....then, switch the graphic off to get my normal, or other, sound back, add the boost when it's time to let it rip, etc. and yadda

add my Mesa 212 and take it to 4 ohms

tube recto for one, both, or neither channel plus tons of controls for each channel, class switching, sounds incredible at any setting. I guess it's kinda not 2 channels, more a single channel with a whole bunch of dedicated controls for 2 main presets, with a bunch of flexibility within each preset and a better-designed footswitch than one could ask for use with this particular amp.

I was similarly gushing about this amp in another thread over the mere existence of it, but now that I will be owning it, my first VHT, by this time next month, and I've been daydreaming about them and infrequently trying every model since 1993 in stores and basically always wanting a Pittbull even though they spell it wrong, now, I have got some major butterflies. Maybe, after that, after a little while, some 212s can get traded for a VHT Fatbottom or something.

The more I think about it the more I know I'm ready for a 50 watt master volume amp. My main amps since 1993 have all been all-tube 100+ watters. The fact that it's a VHT seems like a dream still.

Played it through a 212 G-Flex the other day with normalish B/M/T EQ but with the lowest lows on the graphic EQ raised and I doubt I've ever heard anything so deeeeeeeeep and downright forceful, and I am talking about when I was playing pretty stuff. Pretty sure my 412 G-Flex will crush the world flat. Just like the Chesterfield monster--Chesterlake, no...Cloverlake! No, Cloverleaf! Just like the Cloverleaf monster. Crushy-chunk, gunga chunk, kunka chunga GRUNT uh dun dun, gweedowoom-Chunky chunk unkachunk, crushy chunk, BWIPE.

See? Crushed flat

always thought my first VHT would have KT-88s though
not EL34s like this one

I've known this amp for a year or two, and I loved it immediately, and it's exceeded my expectations each of the few times I've played it, whereas on other days I will try a Deliverance, and twice, a UL, and not quite feel the same level of comfort, and it's not due to the tube recto, I think it's the EL34s instead of KT-88s most, and 50 watts second.

For some reason I never thought it would be this particular amp.

Still, bringing a UL home would take the cake.

trading a 6505+ for it (sniff), but not straight across. Tax refund will help.

but look, give a brother a small break about this user friendly 50 watter and my gushing, cuz its a nuclear GAS meltdown up in here and who else am I going to tell? The VHT Users forum, so I can preach to the choir?

Sounds like fun. I'm still waiting to get a job.. and if i can put enough scratch together I may get a killer amp myself. Who knows what to get.. i dont want to go premature. One question, what amp are you talking about? lol
