Guthrie Govan new Charvel Sig model

Doesn't sound too bad wonder how much it will cost? I will say I liked the tone of the shur a lil better.

I've also heard rumours that Victory are the new amps by Martin Kidd (the designer behind Cornford amps that Guthrie used for his whole career), though this particular amp is not to my tastes, it's a different animal to the Cornfords he's used in the past.

I think that tone is more of the amp than the guitar. Speaking of which, it looks like a good axe... nice work in progress.

Watching the video... he had a Sean Connery moment at 5:43, didn't he.

Or the over cost of the guitar is cheaper so they'll sell more signature models as opposed to Suhr or the new cheaper line John has. I don't mean sound dubious, but I would think in this economy they can sell a lot more Charvels and Suhrs...........Which I would imagine, Guthie would stand to make more too. These guys jump companies a lot.

Yea but the contract was up with shur anyway and their were some things he didn't like about his shur strats that he found out after doing long tours with them. Not that their bad guitars but just things he wanted different which is why I think he went with bass wood for this instead of Mahogany but he is still trying out different things but I think he will be happy with Charvel and if the price is right I might try to get one myself.

Suhr actually decided not to renew/continue their dealings with Guthrie.

The best I've ever heard him sound, he was playing through a Suhr Badger with Suhr and Vigier guitars. That's what he used on the entire Aristocrats record and that's what he was using when I saw them live.

MMmmmm, at 00m38 sec, he states it is NOT a signiture guitar.

Still, it is a good looking guitar !

Would love to hear that guitar through a Cornford Roadhouse !
