Guys I Need Your Help More Then Ever

Allright, here is the deal... In my town lives one extremley good luthier and guitar maker and i want from him to make me a guitar (custom shop). I saw his work and its flawless and really masterpieces. I need your help in next. I am a big fan of whammy so...would this combo can be good as floyd rose (not identical because i know it is impossible). Wilkinson tremolo system (if there is better tell me and how big differece is in wilkinson and amercian fulcrum or vintage tremolo?) 2 hipshot tremsetters and 3 tension springs (like Vai) LSR Roller Nut (or else if it would do the job better) and shaller or sperzel locking tuners? I know to strech strings and thah stuff... If it cannot be almost good as floyd tell me difference in tuning stabiliy betwen original and shaller floyd? Also i have heard that reversed headstock is better for tuning stability and guitar itself because of more balanced tension of strings, is it true? Basicly i want to make hotroded strat, Alder body, maple neck and fretboard with dunlop 6000 fret wire and scalloped neck. Please guys i lnow that these questions were ask for million times but i really need your opinios. Thanks in advance and sorry for bad english.

No need to apologize for your english, I think that I understand everything that you're asking. Do you plan on doing a bunch of dive-bomb type tremolo stuff with this guitar?

Well compare it to this....something like early Eddie Van Halen, like Yngwie Malmsteen, Ritchie Blackmore etc. but i need something that I don't need to tune every 5-6 songs because i play live often. Thanks guys one more time you're really nice

I like to do dive bomb but i am not whammy maniac I don't do dive bomb for half hour but i like to shake it once in a while, 80's maniac

Marin thanks for the info about floyds, so shaller is good as original...thanks...The thing is Marvin that floyd is last option because i don't like them generally, i like their tuning stability but i don't like the locking nuts and whole that bridge...so i'm trying to figure it out would some good tremolo system (best if there is one) and tuners and etc i have told it in my first post...to avoid floyd if it is possible and still to do job for me...Thanks Marvin

I thought you wanted a floyd. The wilkinson/sperzel/Lsr combo will work fine. It will never be as a a floyd, but I also find floyds ugly and overly complicated.

Sorry Marin :smack: It was error in typing...so you think it would do the job? Is there any better combo by your opinion? In general, i want whammy and i want to be able stay in tune very good but i want to make a guitar as simple as it can be, also i don't like how floyd looks but i like oversized headstocks but that is a different story :newangel:

No, I don't think you can get any better than that without going for a floyd-type (locking-nut) tremolo. Whether the LSR nut is of any use, is a matter of debate. Some people claim that a well cut and greased bone or grahpite nut will do the same job.

I don't mind to use LSR Roller Nut, i just want the best nut for stability, if it is good or better then bone, brass or graphite nut i will use it, also you don't need to maintaint it Also do you have experience in hipshot tremsetter ? do they help?

on a general note, hipshot makes really good stuff. if you are going the hipshot/wilkinson way, go for a slipstone or graphtech nut and locking tuners. i prefer sperzels because of their staggered string posts thus eliminating the need of a string retainer. like marin, i prefer the hipshot/wilkinson-type over the floyd-style. i find floyd-type cumbersome and imo, tone suckers.

The truth is that Floyd Rose trems will never let you down. If the price is the problem, well, I don't think there is a great difference between them. For me the only dilemma I would come across, if I were you, it would be the choice of a Floyd Rose Original or a Floyd Rose Pro. But, if you generally don't like the Floyds, you could try the Jeff Beck bridge. I think it was a limited edition accessory but you may stand lucky and find it somewhere. It is as small as a fulcrum but it has built in locks and tuners. The tuners are positioned under the bridge so they are not obvious making this bridge ugly.

No the money isn't the problem... I will hardly get Jeff Beck bridge in my country So let we just vote then....which do you like better wilkinson, hipshot or fender (also vintage or standard modern) and which nut graphite, bone, brass or LSR Roller Nut? keep in mind that tuning stability is most important and yeah i know that i'm boring but did someone have experience with tremsetter? does it work? Thanks guys one more time

If you're looking for ANY trem system that will keep perfect tuning after a dive bomb (even occasionally) good luck Way back when I used to wanna be Kirk Hammet, I could knock a Floyd out in no time.

I've always been a Floyd guy, but just got a Strat, and realized that it does fine for my limited tremelo usage. Check out John Petrucci's Music Man signature guitar. He's got a non-locking trem, and whammies quite a bit.

Well i don't know how did you set up floyd but i never knocked floyd out of tune Yeah i looked but in my country there is limited stuff and also almost no one want to send over internet here any part...

It wasn't the Floyd, so much as the strings. Regardless of how much you stretch the strings, they still keep on stretching. For non-metal (or even less-metallic) applications, I prefer the tone of a vintage trem.

Hey Jovan I wld say go for a floyd, and the Hipshots tremsetter is good it provides satabilty ( funny I have almost he same set up design for my hotrod except for a rosewood fretboard). If u wanna dive bombs even ocasionaly go for the floyd ( thats my style I too dont want the hastle of retuning everytime).You cld get the Floyd set up to work only one way ( to drop, or lower pitch) and not as a whammy or floating. It works very well like that.
